Best of luck I have the same dilemma. Midel (the australian SU distributer) has them as no longer available and out of stock. I have tried to buy them from several sources to no avail and have been advised to to cut ordinary air filter wing nuts down to size, drill them and tap them. |

Mick from WA can answer this. Do a search. This has come up twice in the last month or so..... |

Yup....they are a real bugger to find the originals. Thanks to DWAsmith for his generosity the other month in helping me score one. All is not lost though, if it's not a concours cooper then all you need to do is cut down a standard clubby one to length (31mm long beneath the wingnut). The thread goes all the way through so you don't need to re thread it or drill it out. Here's an original Cooper type: ![]() |

I bought some from Padstow (mini spares centre Australia) a few years ago, remanufactured. Not Wing Nuts, they were a chromed 3/4" nut at the top. Very nice. Again, not for the originality seeking. |

No need for original so the cut down clubby ones will do - thanks for the tip ![]() |

He will supply me with two wing nuts for $20 as Karcraft no longer stock them ![]() Paul sold MiniMania and retired and 4 years later the new owner went bankrupt so Paul is in "working Retirement" from home. Paul was a former Leyland Racing Team Driver tells me the Blue paint used on the Leyland racing cars was a Fiat colour ![]() |
