ok, so i sent an order off to minisport uk, asking for them to quote shipping before packaging, this was last week, now, the took $$$ from my credit card, but are yet to quote shipping...how long does it usually take for them to send an order? ill be happy if they have sent it and forgotten to charge postage, as its a pair of heavy front hubs...

Sounds like my experience....

They took several weeks to process my order - even to give a postage quote...
(may be some "safety" thing with overseasa buyers ??)

Then my stuff was held up in Quarantine - very peculiar...

But it all arrived in the end...

Ken.

Its not much trouble to find out from the web how much the parts should cost. Compare this to how much they've charged and then make a decision. Do you still want the parts? Minisport are not reticent about quoting one price and charging another in my experience...and not real good at actually shipping the stuff you ordered as well.

If you feel you're being overcharged, tell you bank that you won't be paying the credit card bill and then ring Msport and tell them you will be refusing to take delivery of the goods. You may find they are amenable to negotiation as the post office will return the goods to them at their expense....

In my case we agreed a price (they stated the goods were in stock). Like you, they sent me the bill in advance - which was somewhat more than I expected. I rang them and the excuse was that the manufacturere had put up the price (what manufacturer, I though the items were in stock?). We discussed what I thought was a reasonable price and they agreed that perhaps their original offer was appropriate ..Damn, I didn't even hold out for a discount...

Using a credit card menas that you retain significant bargaining powers...

Cheers, Ian

Its funny how we all percieve the different suppliers, I have been getting stuff from minisport since the 80s, not in the last few years but back when Karcraft and Henry Draper were the only ones getting stuff over on a regular basis and was happy with the service and freight service, large parcels by sea and small bits by air. In the last few years I have got stuff from most of the UK suppliers and they are all pretty much of a much, mini sppares with there freight are the worst as before the limit went to $1000 for duty free they would hit you for customs clearance and AQUIS feeson just about everything :D
