There are a plethora of discussions on the subject - try the search options for tyres and see how you go. A quick soldiers 5 on it though - the 226 Bridgestones are a good budget conscious tyre with good general wear and grip although will plead for mercy if asked to do anything spirited. The Yokohama A008 tyres are a good tyre and will give you a very good ride and grip(although a wee bit noisy). Baby poo will not come off them though. The intermediates made by Dunlop and Yokohama are very very grippy but will last a dog watch(that is - not very long at all...sailor speak) but will stick like poo to a blanket while they last. The Falkens are another choice but again it is a compromise to what you want out of a tyre. I would use them at a pinch however there are better around. If you go to 12 inch wheels, the options open up more and 13's will open up even more...its really down to your personal choice. Hope this helps hooroo |

Falkens ok on 12s i got mabors on my 10x4.5s (what eva the hell mabors are?!?!?!) Dad has Yoko A539, they are the intermidiate, for 12x5 they are about 100 each or so, not cheap but are really good, i'd reccommend them. |

for 10x5 go the yokohama a008's if you can afford them, if you're on a tight budget then go the bridgestone sf226 |

I just done a search on Google Australia and it came up with 2 hits for A008's. Can you believe it.....2 hits.. I ordered 4 tyres from my local Beaurepaires in December 05, they rung in January to ask how many I wanted and said they would call me when they are in.......I'm still waiting. |

Try Bob Jane, they seem to get A008s when nobody else can... Rumours of the impending demise of 10" A008s have circulated for years, I think it's reverse Marketing hype... ![]() |

I don't have a problem with that. I enjoy a trip to the big smoke now and then. Can you suggest a place that I can go to order them. |

I'm another person that belives in A008's. There a good tyre and based on how noisy my mini is inside I don't think that it makes that much difference (the yoko is noisier, I did have 226's). Most of the sound deadening in the engine bay had pretty much fallen off so I pulled the rest off thus why my mini is extra noisy inside. |

Paul - I got 4 A008s through Pat's Tyres (local Yokohama distributer) in Fyschwick in January.... took a couple of days but otherwise no worries..... Similarly got A032s in February... again just a few days.... possibly get them cheaper via Sydney - but would still need to get fitted somewhere... Ken. |
