Ok,

I've got a few questions about doors for minis. Be gentle, I'm a Moke guy so doors are all a bit new to me...

Pics of original minis would be great. Mine are all modified so I can't tell what they are supposed to be like.

The first one is: what is meant to attach to this bracket at the rear end of the pocket in a Morris wind-up window door?

Image

And, how come some doors have nothing at the base of the pocket like here (67 Matic):

Image

While other doors have these little thingys at the base? What attaches to these? Do they just make a flat surface for a bit of trim?

Image

Next: Every door I have stripped (2 x 67 Matic + 1 x older morris wind-up + 1 x Clubman) has one of these washers floating around in the bottom of the door, rattling. So where is it supposed to go? Door hinge stud is my guess but why only one in the bottom of each door, just floating around??

Image

The final question has been answered by my trip to the All British show in Bris today but I'd like a pic of the seat belt clip that screws to these two holes in a Matic, just behind the B pillar.

Image

Thanks.

M.

Those two holes might be for a door pull strap? I've got 850 sliding doors and have always wondered where the straps connect :).

I'm fairly sure that the huge flat washer is meant to go on the top door hinge stud, as I think the top hinge is in a structurally weaker spot thats more prone to distortion, hence the washer to disperse the force.

Ask 9YaTH about the washer. He gave me the technical diagram for the doors once but I have lost it.

The washer is on the outer most stud on the top (from memory) stud only. Often found in the bottom of doors because you cant get them out without a claw tool.

those two little holes behind you (b pillar) are for a plastic bracket that holds the seatbelt clip/buckle. the brackets on the bottom of the pockets hold a trim that forms the base of your door pockets so things arnt resting on the bottom of your doors (even though they always end up there)

The bracket at the front end of the door doesn't connect to the door strap the bolts onto the side of the bucket thing itself. I too have wondered what it'd for.......British engineering fellas!
