Ok. Pretty simple question. What needs to be done to get 850 doors on a windup Morris? I have a Matic that (of course) has windup window doors (well it doesnt have any doors at the moment) and I'd like to fit 850 doors in keeping with my theme for the car. What needs changing? Striker plate? Door seals? |

of course it didn't have sliding window doors, it had windup windows 
and they're directly interchangable |

willy, I think you will find you need to swap the D shaped plastic things from the doors of the 850 onto the body of the matic or something, should be pretty easy but.... Simon, love the avater...... nice pair of eyes!! phwoooaar

yeah.. I like it - got TME today Graham, very nice... but it the pictures don't really give the full effect of walking through your garage door 
Different catches to what willy? the catches & striker plates look the same to me, from windups to sliders - the production cost of the 850 door is obviously much less |

One seems narrower or something? I dont have each to compare, but I do know that they have a different screw pattern.. the 850 holes are pretty much vertical (or horizontal?) I cannot remember. AHhhhhhh maybe I'll find some doors and try to fit them up, see if it works

no.. there actually slightly different but i think they still screw to similar holes.. have a look on other doors when you get a chance.. not a 100% sure.. |

I think you will find the 850 doors used the UK plastic wedge thingy, not the Oz made one which is a bit different. But I modded UK ones for my `matic doors so they are not a whole lot different. |

I replaced the (Aus) windups on my (UK) Traveller with a set of (Aus) 850 doors... They bolt straight on. The only difference I could detect was that the white nylon support and corresponding bracket had to be swapped over (on UK cars the bracket in one the body whereas Aus cars seem to have the nylon support there). Both items use the same screw holes and are interchangeable. Cheers, Ian |

the seals are definitely different as well...you might find that seals to suit the later windy doors are too thick and make it hard to close if you just stick them straight on. 850 door seals were 2 pieces - 1 is the rubber seal, the other is the locking strip. later ones are 1 piece both seal and locking moulded together. |

pretty sure all the roundies had those 2 piece door rubbers - all of mine have had them... |

The Doc and 1071 described the plastic block thing much better than I did...... What they said! I hadn't thought about the seals, yes the Aussie wind up ones are too thick, 850 ones are one piece, I just put some new ones on my 850, $89 I think from Tony at Minisport.
