When pulling the engine do you need to undo all 8 Ubolts on the CV or only the outside ones? |

Do you mean to pull the cv joint off the diff shafts ? If so it's just a spring ring inside the cv , a sharp tap with a BFH on the edge of the cv away from the gearbox , turn it a bit , another sharp tap etc till it falls off . Just remember though that the cv's half of the oil seal so any oil left in it will anoint your floor .... |

Other type of cv. These are just the U-bolt types, with a rubber headed x in the middle. Solved the problem, I just undid all the bolts and rotated the shafts until the centre bit came free. That gave me enough room to pull the engine. Pics to follow. I rally pleased with the head and block. Ive got most of the clutch cover off but I just an extreme case of couldnt be bothered after 5 hours. |
