also maybe think about: Rust converter Beer Saftey googles/glasses Dust mask Ear muffs Strip wheel (3M make them, they fit on your drill and chew through rust etc) Scotch brite pads - the ones the wife uses in the kitchen... More beer Are you doing outside & inside or outside only?? I used about 3 wire wheels to do just the outside |

+Glad wrap -dust masks (can't drink in a dust mask) +extra beer (to wash the dust down) Get about 4 of those strip wheels (look like a thick black nylon scourer glued to a grinding disc) - will strip paint, bog, rust, etc without removing all Astro's remaining metal |

Angle Grinder with a wire wheel. A wire wheel lasts me about 4 hours work. Sand paper of many grades make sure you get 360 and 1200 grit for finishing work and coarser stuff for cutting through. Beer. Has that been mentioned |

I've heard of stuff called "Naval Jelly" for paint stripping - anyone used it? Apparantly it's lethal if you get it in you, but it gets the paint off like stink! |

I have used and it ate all the paint really easily, and all the rubbers and the rubber gloves I was wearing. It was also impossible to clean up. It also dissolves rust but must be etched within 24 hours. I didnt use it his time becuase it is so difficult to clean off. It combines with the dissolved paint to form a toxic caustic slurry...yuk..but effective |
