Post subject: | Wiring up mini 12AUW wiper motor |
Hello guys this is my first post here. I am currently installing the wiper motor in my mini I am restoring and can't work out which wire is supposed to go where on the wiper motor. The four wires are Green Black/green Blue/green Red/Green Pretty sure I have the wiper switch (out of the car the wiper motor is from) wired up correctly. Although it did fall apart on me but i'm pretty sure I put it back together properly. Anyway if anyone can tell me which of the above wires goes to which pin on the wiper motor it would be much appreciated. The loom is set up for a 12auw wiper motor with the clubman switch. Regards Andrew |

Got the motor out my old clubman. I have a single speed from a '61 mini I am looking to get rid of if that helps (square motor). Won't know if I am getting rid of it until I can the current wiper working though. |

So does anyone have any ideas or know anyone I might be able to contact regarding wiring up the two speed wiper motor (from '73 clubman). It's is really holding things up for me unfortunately as I can't put the demister ducts in and the dash. I want to get all the dash bits in before tackling the carpet and front seats. |

Thanks for the wiring diagram link however I already had the Haymes manual. Unfortunately it does not show the wiring for the Australian two speed wipers (12AUW model) only the english type. The austalian wiper has four pins on the connector from which three of these go into the wiper motor and one is earthed to the wiper motor. The wires going to the two speed switch on the dash are black, blue/green, red/green and black/green. The wires going to the wiper motor from the loom are green, red/green, blue/green and black/green. The only manual I have found which shows the correct wiring diagram is the Gregory's one for the australian clubman minis. This shows which wire from the loom connects to which pin on the wiper switch but not which wire from the loom connects to which pin on the wiper motor. It is the connections at the wiper I am having problems with. I can get the wiper working in two speeds but it is not parking correctly which makes me think I still don't have the wires on the motor hooked up right. WEEVAN - Thanks for the tip for here it is quite useful. It seems this problem may be a little tricky for them though. I'll have to think of more simple questions in the future ![]() |
