Hi I know this has been discussed a lot but I want to know if anyone here has fitted a pair of 300zx seats I've seen these seats in a datsun 1200 which also has a very small cabin and they fit nicely. here's one installed in a datsun 1200 
Here's a MX5 seats 
Here's the SR3 copy ones 
I'm thinking between 300zx seats, MX5 seats (this fits nicely) or one of those Recaro SR3 copy they sell from JustJap Leather ones I had a quick chat with my engineer about seat swaps so t will be all legal.

Hi i bought a pair of those recaro sr3 copys from just jap. They fit very well and are really comfortable,mine are cloth one's.

With my sparco sprints i bought the Cobra seat fram which is suited for the mini and modified it a little to suit the sparcos. Bit off topic i know..... |

I made these seat braces up the front bolts to the orignal two holes, and the back bolts down thru the floor, with a plate under the floor.

I've heard somewhere that MX5 seats have speakers inbuilt? Am i crazy/dillusional?? If not, what do they look like? Also, with the SR3 copies, how much were they for leather. I'm thinking of buying some damaged recaros and getting them trimmed in leather. Is it actually leather or that pleather stuff? |

Steve are those braces on an angle? so the higher part is the rear side and lower one for the front side? or the other way around? Do you by any chance wrote down or know the measurements of the braces? just gonna make my life easier as I'm thinking of getting it done by an engineer or you maybe can offer your services for an exchange of $$$ .... I mean services by making these rails/braces |

I asked JustJap about this and they said its real leather I honestly think its too cheap for it to be a real leather price is $599 a pair plus $125 i think to post anywhere in OZ |

there are many types of leather, some cheap some not so cheap, hence not much to get your commodore in leathers but lots to get your porsche in leather, different grades. trust me i did the research when i got some custom sofas made for my house:) |

300zx seats are some of the heaviest ones ever made, if i wher you i'd go for the mx5 seats, they dont look as high tek aswell. |

yeah I agree the MX5 seats kinda blends in but my missus wants the 300zx or the recaro copy ones the 300zx ones are the heaviest from the 3, there's one version with electric control unit so thats heavier. But they are the most comfortable from the 3. |
