G'Day all, this is my first post on this forum. I am from N.W. Tas. I have a 997 cooper that i believe is a 63? Its in need of a resto but it is the real thing. I was hoping one of the well informed members here could confirm when it was built, its type is yka2s1 with engine prefix 9fsal. I have the book original mini cooper and cooper s, but it seems to cover english assembled cars only. I was also hoping to find out what type of interior it should have. The couours are nurberg white and dusk blue. I have a mate with an english cooper s, and hope my car should have the same interior as that, and not plain like the aussie copper s. It is missing the correct block but has the correct 'box and a 295 head. I would like to get a 997 or early 1098( cast over manual fuel pump hole) block. I have a cooper s block that i might trade for a 997. Its a very long term project so am in no rush to pay top dollar for bits. I will put the cooper s motor in it if i cant find the correct thing for a fair price. Thanks all. |

Welcome...just wait a few minutes for a fella named Graham (who's in Australia...the big island to the North) to come on and tell you all you need to know...he can probably help you out by selling you a block as well. |
