Does anyone know where you can get these wheels? Sometimes they are referred to as spectrums. I see lots of cars in mags with them but never an advertisement for them or a web address. |

Mate as far as I know nobody brought them into the country. They were made in the UK and were not too common over there, mainly because they were very expensive. May be able to pick up a set from UK if you lucky. I think you will be competing with sg for a set though. May the best man win. |

When Mini Car Clinic in Padstow were still going, they advertised Spectrums in their catalogue. But that won't help you now - don't know of anyone else who imports them. Might hafta import 'em yaself. |

Hmmm I thought Spectrums were a different wheel, I've heard of Spectrum wheels, they are only one-piece rims, made in New Zealand?? I think thems the ones.... Correct me if I'm wrong. MB Split rims are very expensive, and would be a pain getting them. Never seen them in Oz, only rarely in UK. They do look fantasic though

mb rims and spectrum rims are different, spectrum rims have triangles mackined into them whilw mb rims have square holes i have only ever seen one set of mb rims in aus, they were on a cooper s in mini magic no 3 or 4 ( cant remember )

no idea where u could find them... they don't even mention them in Mini Magazine or Miniworld... only when they are featured on a feature car |

I thought Mini Car Clinic were still going...??? It's Mini Kingdom that closed- they merged with Mini Car Clinic.. or has something else happened and nobody told me..

No you're probably right again Kev. The guy I bought my last mini off gave me a Mini Car Clinic catalogue along with the rave that it was the other way around. ie. that Mini Car Clinic was bought out by Mini Kingdom. I've never bought anything from either establishment so I'm not sure on that score. I do know tho' that Spectrum mags made in the UK were featured in the catalogue similar to but not identical to the piccy above. Tasty bit of kit too, I might add. Maybe Mini Kingdom still import them? Oops... Maybe Mini Car Clinic still import them. (Sorry Kev)

If they're split rim, then they would never have been allowed in the country, due to ADR's regulating them. Rims must be one piece, and the hub must be welded(not bolted to the rim like my old Dragways were). I dunno how many sets of tyres I had replaced on those rims, but eventually one of the places mentioned the wheels were illegal("NOT FOR ROAD USE" was actually stamped in the hub). That was when he pointed out the bolts onto the rim. Kept em anyway coz dey looked sweet. But why would they make wheels that arent for road use???? |

Last time i went they had a nice set of 12's i should i bought that very day.....pity they sold them off
