I repainted the engine bay and the hood was just sitting on top.
Today, in the wind, it blew the hood off and over the car (lucky) and landed behind the car and skidded down the street...

I lost a sock chasing it :D

Oh well, she'll be right... but how bout the wind huh!!!!

Peter.

Indeed.

And also, the material above your head in a mini is the HEADLINING not a HOODLINING.

You chased a bonnet and a sock.

We chased a fire with the wind pushing it along. A landholder had a stump he was burning out and it had been smouldering for a week. With the wind, it flaired up and tossed embers into a dry pasture grass paddock.

Luckily we were there quickly and had the fire knocked down before it became a really big fire.

Swap you a bonnet for a fire any day.

But again - how do you lose a sock ?????

assuming he wasnt wearing shoes, he could have lost it while running after the bonnet. if it was an ankle sock it'd come off easily. Either that, or the evil sock monster stole it off his foot while he wasn't looking.

If was the cause of the wind he could have blown it off.

My first thought was that it was a wind sock but then I realised that its not normal to have private air strips near Peter's abode.

Wind has stopped here now but its been pretty desperate all day. Listening to the Fire control radio while we were chasing our fire told us that there were incidents happening all over the region and we were sending crews to assist elsewhere.

I think the sock must have been on the hills hoist along with the hood.

ok, ok bonnet. Either way, it sucked!

So, I went outside, massive winds. Knocked a couple fences down round here... so I went out to check ... the BONNET.

I made sure it was secure then though, Ah! What for, its heavy!

Went to eat iniside and then though, nah, better secure it.
Looked through the window... no bonnet

Ran outside... neighbour just pointed down the road :? so I started running (cause it was a slidin' along with the styrofoam and rubbish from next door)

As I was running, my sock caught on the road and just stayed put, I kept running and grabbed the hood (yes, road was hotter without the sock)

Adeee was right, short ankle sock... wife yelled at me for going out in my socks :?

Now hood needs a bit of straightening out.
Its VERY funny now...

Mike - No thanks, I do know what its like in the fires... ill keep the hood chasing.
HEY Can we have hood chasing competition at MDU - I am experienced now!!! HAHAH

Peter.

Arn't ankle socks the ones that have a pretty lacy frilly ring around the upper rim to stop them slipping into the shoey abyss.
