Hi guys I have a few heads lying round and I notice the one pictured has different looking lifters. Is there anything special about them or are they just standard?
Cheers guysImage

Those are the rockers. Lifters are down on the cam.

thanks for clearing it up for me. what was I thinking (lifters)pfffft.
Oh i thought only some of the pushrods had to be seated under the "rockers" no wonder it was running a bit suss. Seriously this motor has to be rebuilt so there is no chance of it being started in it current guise. Any takers on my original question ?
Cheers

They are the late model a+ type, not all that flash from all reports and even the pressed metal early ones are better :D but they are on my motor cause that is what it came with

Hi,
I can confirm what Jon said, they are not very strong at all, despite their appearance and likely to fail at anything over 6500 rpm, apparently.

Sintered metal rockers - Vizard says bin them. Forge steel are best followed by pressed steel. Vizard mentions using the pressed steel with a weld along the folds as having potential for lightness and strength but had not actually done it himself.

The sintered ones(which you have ) were notorious for being totally all over the place WRT ratios - the lift could vary from one to the other. I still have them on Henry though as I couldnt be bothered changing them.

The pressed ones are realy good and strong but weld the top of them and you will not have an issue. Spot weld the underside too as they can start to spread(like old age...hahahahahaha)

Ewww sintered rockers! best used as a door stop, you can make 8 door stops per set

I think they have something like 1.2:1 lift, metal ones are 1.3:1 lift so they suck performance wise. Anyone want to buy a set? cheap cheap!
