I took some pics of how I wired my horn to the centre horn button on my steering wheel.
I redid the wiring today, as the wire I had used was too flimsy, even with extra electrical tape re-enforcing. The wire had rubbed/twisted through, exposing a bit of the copper, so every time I did a hard turn right, it would honk at me!
This time, I used a 4mm Super Works general automotive wire from Super Cheap. It's rubbish wire to use normally, but it has an ultra thick casing and is stiff and wont kink.
The length of wire is just enough so that you can turn from lock to lock without any hinderence as it wraps around the steering column.
I've been driving it around today, and it is not fouling the indicator mechanism whatsoever. I coiled the wire the way I did, because thats what the first try looked like after a few weeks of driving it, so it's safe to assume that is its "most comfortable" position.
^^^ Without housing. You can see how it coils around.
^^^ With housing on. All you see if a couple of cms of black wire on the under side of the steering wheel boss, so unless you look for it, you don't see it.
Just thought y'all might like to know in case you are interested in doing this yourself.
