did morris 850s ever come fitted with dash switches that had a clear plastic arm instead of the standard black arms. mine had clear arms when i got it but i can find replacements anywhere as mine are broke.

also, what are the original door check straps on an 850 made from? i have seen leather, webbing and also vinyl that matches the interior and have been told that they were all original. can any one clarify this? thanks.

I have seen some black switches go clear from sitting in the sun. That could explain why they break.

Mine were originally black but over time went clear, brittle, and broke. Have replaced the knobs to save mucking around removing the heater to get the switches out. The original door retaining webbing is still on the car and it is black seat belt webbing that has weathered to a dull grey over the years.

Dorothys are clear and so are the travellers both early cars, Your check strap should be same as door cards.

I got some new switches from Jaycar. Lever is a little longer than original - if I don't like the look of it I can always shorten but otherwise look the same and a lot cheaper than "original"

door strap so it doesn't open too far. My switchs were clear but were broken when i got them haha! So i replaced them with normal on/off toggle switchs, suits my car more.

Be quiet or everyone will want them. 8)
They were an option and are fairly rare and as a result they are worth a bit. List them on ebay and see!
