I am going to gloat
Apart from the Alfa GTV6 that broke on its first lap, i was slowest car on the day at the MCC supersprint. I still won the trophy for fastest Mini under 1100cc
even if it was because it was the only one in the class.
Still i had a blast considering it is a stock 998, with 1.25in SU, dodgy bros extractors, Falken road tyres that don't stick, 14 year old dampers that don't do what their name suggests. Hell i did not even adjust the timing or the mixture from when i was last using it 6 years ago. The engine still has the normal oil pick up, so i watched the pressure disappear on the right handers. It still has single valve springs, so i found the valve bounce rev limiter.
My fastest lap was 1:52 on the GP circuit. Now if that seems slow - it is
The sports sedan Mini that was there was doing 1:30, some even get down to the mid 1:20s.
I can go faster, i know i can
I'll match my mates stock 1974 Corolla with slicks no problem 
Next time i'll even remember the keys so i can put more petrol in it.
