I've thought about it for my van, I reckon it'd be dead easy cos you just replace the donuts or hydro bags with air bags - would be an easier conversion than any other car I'm sure. It'd just be a matter of finding bags small enough, making something up to hold the knuckle shaft and running the air lines.

do it, and let me know the bits to buy, or better yet, give me some money, I'll do it to my van and then tell you how I did it

I spoke to some "professionals" at the Hot 4s motor show that was at Homebush Stadium about 6 months ago who were demonstrating a Suzuki Sierra with the suspension on. They advised that a whole lot of other modification would need to be done to the mini and it could cost in the vicinity of the $7500 mark. **shrugs** I dont know if they were sh!tting me or what, but you take the advice on face value when you have no idea...

I had a van and they were talking about floor pan strengthening, side strengthening, some form of huge battery compartment for batteries and gas cylinders and everything you imagine. Still sounded cooler than a nun's fanny in winter, but my budget only just stretches to $750... not ten times that.

I know this has been done in the UK. a full hydro setup, he could make the car move any way he liked, it was a ute from memory with one of those mini bikes stuck in the back. I saw it on a fifth gear special, 45th aniversary mini episode. he said it cost a lot of money, I believe he said and i quote "you could by and register every model of porsche for what it cost to make this mini" I have the episode, but im on dial up and its 150 mb :)

they dont make bags small enough :( i have been looking in to this for a while. also you can get bag kits for as low as $900 . but be prepared to do alot of custom work and fabrication.

I'll live without them I think.... plenty of better ways to spend $900, hell, that's 2 and a bit suzuki swifts! (can you tell I'm excited about the swift?)
