I'm not sure about all Mini's, but my hi-beams won't work unless the headlight switch is on (low-beams).

What i have done is connected a wire on the Indicator stalk loom to the BLUE with WHITE TRACER to activate the spotlight relays... (this works!)

BUT:

What i want is to be able to flash high-beams without having to switch on low-beams (no lights on).

Do i trace the wire that supplies voltage TO the BLUE/WHITE wire or do i just GIVE voltage to the BLUE/WHITE wire???

Thanks.

you give voltage to the BLUE/WHITE wire - there ought to be a purple wire in the indicators loom that has power on it, as far as I recall....

but use some relays as the high beams use too much current for the switch and it melts the switch in the stalk

Luckily the previous owner (stuwey) did that on both low/high beams...

So if i bridge the purple? wire to the Blue/white wire i will have power at the switch constantly???

Goodo, will sus it out tonight.

If you have an indicator assembly that has the flasher facility, then you should not have to worry about getting the high beam to work.

Whatever you do, don't bridge the purple wire to the blue/white trace wire as this will have your high beams on permanently.

The purple wire has fused battery permanently on it and is wired to the direction indicator/headlamp flasher and dip switch assembly unit. Operation of the flasher will bridge this feed to the blue/white trace wire. If it is not flashing your lights then you have a problem with the flasher switch contacts or wiring.

Good to see that the lights are wired via a relay, nothing worse than having your lights fail on a very dark night because of burnt out light switch or dip switch.

I tried to bridge the purple wire to the blue/white tonight and all that happens is the horn starts going off, nothing happens to the highbeam at all.

I really thought that would've worked...
