are these the same as the mini ones, I know the motors are interchangeable, but are the gear ratios same or similar, and are they physicaly different to mount?? |

they've got a 4.1 diff ratio, and diff housing and gear change are different, they are only 3 synchro gearboxes as well, so you're much better off with a late morris (mini K or MK 2 cooper S) or clubman gearbox. that said, they can be fitted, but it's a big step in the wrong direction. My mate wrecked a clubman that had a morris 1100 motor and gearbox very recently, so they certainly fit. If you're fitting a morris 1100 engine, make sure you cut the mounting points off the front engine plate cos they really get in the way if left in place - this is independent of the gearbox you choose. |

The Morris 1100 boxes have a different sort of remote mechanism to the Mini - they mount differently. The 1100 has sideways bolts attaching the remote to the box, the Mini has upwards bolts (very technical I know ![]() |

![]() You can also get a solid sandwich plate from www.minimania.com to replace that rubber sandwich mount. Tightens up the shift so it's not like a stick in spaghetti.. ![]() |
