Post subject:  Biggest mini model markup ?

While on the gold coast I had a look at a junk/antique shop I used to deal with (20th century collectibles , in the main drag near the end roundabout at Coolangatta) , it's a second hand dealer who sublets areas to other dealers in the old cinema building . One of the dealers (who used to be dear anyway) is selling the standard cararama mini's (that you can buy in toyworld and the likes for $7) for an amazing $20 each . But that's not the worst , they are selling the 1/72 scale (smaller of the sizes) cararama mini's that normally come in a box of 6 (which Watto is selling in TME for $15 for the 6) for $10 each , so basically $60 for the set of 6 , up from $15 . These are all still available retail so no real reason to charge that .....
Anyone able to beat that for extra markup's ?

I bought a mini model off someone, then saw Watto's add in TME and realised I was ripped off

Only ones I can think of are the little 1/64 MINIs you see being sold at car shows.
$50! They were only closer to $20 when the MINI was launched. :D

Not at all mini-related but when I was a student in 1998 it was the height of the Beanie Baby craze in the US - I was working in a gift shop in a tourist town in South Carolina and we sold Beanie Babies.

The invoice price per item was $2.95, standard store policy was to round up to the dollar, then double it and add 95c, which meant that most of them sold at $6.95.

For the most sought after ones (which cost us just the same as the others but usually came in smaller quantities), we could just about name the price - $150 for the most popular bears!

They were harder to find but honest shop owners would still sell them at standard retail price of $5-$10
