Hi folks,
I just won a new quarter window on Ebay for the Mini SS, it was the least I could do after making her stand around with her top off for two days at Minis Down Under 2006.

So I thought bite the bullet and replace the rubber on both quarters! I was just quoted $145.00 +Gst for the full quarter window kit, is this reasonable as im having trouble seeing the Gold thread in the old ones....lmao.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has got them at a better price as $300.00 for two Quarter window rubbers is a tad out of my league (im not a polititian).

Thanks,

Jim.

Oh they are hideously expensive because they are pretty well custom made low production jobs for the Australian Minis these days. I think I paid a much less (maybe half??) at Minispares Padstow a year or two back, but just bite the bullet if you need to, it's not worth teh rust at the bottom of the doors. The price is a crime, but what are you going to do??

There's a good how to on the justanothermini website. Or Just ask GT.

Thanks for the quick reply,
I have heard of someone in Springwood, NSW that is supposed to have a lot of rubber available, but my eaves dropping skills arenot as good as they were once.....lol.

I am pretty sure Padstow was out last time I rang them. I agree with cost vs headache I just dont like being ripped off.

Thanks,

Jim.

Ask Minispare Padstow what they would normally charge anyway, it all sounds a little too pricey. maybe they stuffed up they're pricing and are charging you too much.

$150 for a complete set for both front quarters is about right for Aussie quarter vent seals. If you can find them cheaper please let me know mine a buggered :)

Hi folks,
I have been told by a reliable source that the original manufactures of the rubbers for the Clubby also did the rubbers for the Holden Gemini. Can anyone confirm this to be true? If so they may be a cheaper option.
Thanks,
Jim.

If that's the case, then you'll probably find the rubbers will shrink like on all good Geminis! :) Maybe try Spectrum rubber?

Try emailing Robert at [email protected]
His son works with me. I'm pretty sure he can supply at a reasonable price.

Should be somewhere in the $150 range for both sides. I was after some last year and the quoted price ranged from $140 to $176.

The price I got last year at $140 was from Mini Bits, in Officer, Victoria and the phone number is 03 9707 1666......ask for John. He does mail orders.

Cheers

Hi folks,
I have just placed an order with BTRubber in Victoria for my left and right Quarter window rubber set, their list price was $81.45!!!! So it just goes to show it pays to ask around and a big thanks to WEEVAN for the contact details.

Jim. :D
