So, after arriving home from the Suade gig in Geelong last night i found THIS greeting me:

Temporarily repaired:

Some f*&$#er WALKED ONTO MY PROPERTY AND THREW A BRICK THROUGH MY MINI'S WINDOW!   Anyway, can't do much else other than fix it...

Cleaned all the glass out anf everything looks ok. SLIGHT scratches to the drivers side leather work but otherwise everything is back to normal.

:?: Now, what should i do next?

Do i buy a whole new window fitting?

Can i just replace the glass?

 If so: Do i go to a Mini place? (And does anyone have any suggestions for this in Vic.?)

OR

Do i go to a normal glasier?

Has anyone had to do this before?

Thanx in advance for any assistance. :D

that's ****ed :(.

agrade handled my windscreen fitting earlier this year and I was happy. They should be able to help you out as they get the glass made locally if they don't have it in stock.

hmmm i think you would need to buy the whole window.
unless you can disassemble the frame, coz the metal is bent around the glass
good luck matey

very angry for you

Wonder wat breed they were? I reckon i know!
I know i had 2 spare rear windows but they were for early Mini, anywaysi just cant think where they are at the momment? A glazier may be able to fit the chrome frame onto a new piece of glass. Im sure there is some where that has decent 2nd hand windows tho.....Lesat there is no panel damage tho!

Proabaly best to go to a mini place as the rover windows are bigger than the aussie windonws , taller mainly . Go to someone who imports rovers and/or parts . Bastards could have at least done it to the windscreen which is standard to ours . Was anything taken or just stupid vandalism ?

How ****ed is that!? Why would they do that? Did they steal anything?

At least one consolation is that they got the window and didn't touch the paintwork. That'd be a real bitch if you needed dints repaired and a spray job. Windows are cheap and easy in comparison.

The chrome frames around the windows are usually rivetted together (well I think they're rivets) but I've seen some that have screws, so have a look. If you can dismantle the chrome then yeah you could get new glass made up, but it's probably easier/cheaper to find a replacement from somewhere that has Rover parts (Northern Mini parts maybe or Brickworx come to mind).

Man that is screwed.

Too much nasty stuff being done to Mini's lately, makes me sad.

Contact brickworx in Adelaide for the rear window, they would be your best bet. As sports850 said, the Aussie ones won't fit.

The most annoying part for me is that it's simply MINDLESS VANDALISM!!!

The window they broke gave them NO ACCESS to anything that would allow them to steal the car and neither to the CD player! :?

Agreed it is GREAT that there is no panel damage! :D

It has come to light today that it seemed to be some f*&%ers on a rampage last night: there's an Audi round the corner with no windshield and a commodore with no rear window so i seemed to come out the best (still in a screwed up kind of way :?).

The frames are screwed so it should be able to be done by a glazier but i'll see if Brickworx or even Link can hook me up...
