Post subject: | Fitting Grp 5 Wheel arches |
I've just got some grp5 arches that I want to mould to the body to cover my revo 12x6's, but the arches seem way to big. Like the curve leave a 2.5" gap around the current edge of the steel, whats the go? Is this normal, does anyone have any pictures of fitting them? http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c269/Fat80y/1-1.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c269/Fat80y/2-1.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c269/Fat80y/3-1.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c269/Fat80y/4-1.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c269/Fat80y/5-1.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c269/Fat80y/6-1.jpg |

Yer, I dont have my digicam, but I can't work out how to get a nice fit to start work on blending them, they seem too uncurved as such, and when you bend them around to suit the wheel arch (the steel) then they seem way too long. |

Where'd you get them from? I know many people cut the excess off, it's usually a bit rusty anyway. Perhaps look at a car that already has flares on them to confirm the position of the holes / arch. |

Bought the flares off another fellow mini'r, they've never been fitted. I don't know of any other mini's around with these flares (especially near me). |

We've got group 7's on one of ours (similar but wider) and their curve is larger than the edge of the metal around the wheel to allow the steel arch to be cut larger to stop wider wheels from rubbing (like our 13x7's). Don't try and fit them to the edge of the metal guard. Line up the two ends so that they are right and attach the top where it wants to sit. |
