Post subject:  Urgent Help Requires Please :D

Got new battery for my mini today so it would start, but of course it wont start, it's turning over, has sparks..

I finally got it to start a few times and it just stalles with a loud pop of air... So now I have figured because I drained teh fuel to install new fuel gauges the fuel is yet to start flowing to teh carby...

So what I would love to know is how I can get fuel to carby... The white container on the fuel pipe is just under half fulll... after the first pop it went from empty to half full...

Now I understand I should ahve put fuel to teh carby in teh first place but only learning...

Can anyone please help me :D

Thanks alot Ian

Dodgy version is to pull the top off the air cleaner and pour a bottle capful into the carb throat , put the filter top back on and try to start it . Once the motor fires with the little fuel in it it should be enough revolutions to draw the fuel up to the carb . Either that or take the fuel hose off the carb and squirt some fuel into the float chamber with a syringe (if you have one) or syphon a bit in with a tube , put the fuel hose on and start again . Or , of course you can take the top off the float chamber and fill it that way . Putting some into the carb is the easiest though ....

If you pull the lid off the float bowl (3 screws) you can easily fill the float bowl with fuel. Just half fill it and put the lid back on, it should start easily. It may run for about 30 seconds and cut out if there is still a supply problem.

The white thing is the fuel filter. They sometimes look like they are only half full (they do it to confuse you) Ignore it unless it is fully empty.

Take off the hose where it goes into the carby and poke the hose into a bottle (plastic prefered) Being carefull not to spill any fuel, then hit the starter and see if it is pumping fuel.

Too much fuel in the mixture has created a build up of carbon on the plugs to such an extent that there is too much on them to allow them to fire. Pull out a plug and see if it covered in black soot.

I think it means plugs are all wet/gunked up or something and hence not firing a strong enough spark (I could be way off  )
