Post subject:  I'm writing up a "how to" for sportspacks....
Just letting everybody know that I am in the process of writing up a full "how to" for fitting sportspack arches and / or wide wheels to minis.

I will be covering:
-tools and things required
-checking panels for alignment
-preparing the arches for fitment
-Marking and drilling the steel guards for mounting
-marking and cutting of the steel guards for wheel clearance (front and rear)
-suggested suspension upgrades

Am also thinking of expanding the write-up to give details on how to modify the arches to suit clubmans and vans (but that will come later)

If anybody has anything that they would like me to give more or specific detail on in this write-up, just let me know by replying in this thread (dont PM me please).

I'm pretty sure I will have everything covered, but somebody might have a particular thing they will want to know that I did not think of.


Should hopefully be ready in a week or so.... these things take alot of time to write... and I need to sort out some more detailed photos.....

Champion... I think alot of people are in need of this info. Sounds like you've got it all covered.. I'm assuming you're using genuine sportspack arches?

h0nk.... am using non-genuine arches for the write-up becuase they are harder to fit. The instructions will apply to genuine arches too, and as a basis for fitting Group 5's.

Badass... a good set? :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: I havent seen a set of those before :lol: :lol: .... but I can list some suppliers of average ones, yep.

skssgn.... you dont press them out, you fill them. The arches are fibreglass.... (well mine are, but genuine ones might not be, im not sure there)

Genuines are made from a tough rubber based plastic.
They naturally flex a lot easier than fibreglass, that's why fitting them is easier.

Ah yes, now I remember them....... the genuine ones are much more forgiving (and a bit more $$$ too). Either way, they go onto a mini in the same way, give or take a few procedures.

Here is an update.....



Started it..... then gave up.






Its too bloody hard to describe everything without physically doing it on a car and taking pictures. The write up will be on hold until I get to do the job on my Rover.
