If you read your history, it once WAS. :lol:
It was a territory of NSW, like Lord Howe & Norfolk Islands still are.

Really. We gave `em independence around 1830. :wink:

Giving them independance then was very generous of us. Particularly as we didn't have the authority to do that until after 1901.

My grandfather was born in 1901(in Cowra) and was in a trench in France by 1916 but he used to say things like "Its such a wonderful day it makes you proud to be British".

wind up your yank friends by talking about the american revolutionary wars and they won't have a clue what you are on about till you mention that they occurred from 1770's to early 1810's... :wink:

Yes but is anyone going to be taking a trip to North America in the next say 3 months? when Canada will still be Canada and Australia will still be Australia and the 2 will be too far apart to mail parts with ease. :)
