Post subject:  Qu on brakes

Replaced all my wheel cylinders this morn on my van, and they have good pressure on the first pump, but when holding the pedal it gradually falls to the floor. All cylinders are in properly, would this be master cylinder? There is no fluid coming from it at top of pedal?

Any ideas?

Also how can you tell if a 12g295 head has been decked to suit an 1100 motor?

Thankyou

yep sounds like the master is shot.

You can either take it to a mini specialist for a reco, new seals and perhaps a ream out and re sleaving or you can get a new one.

I replaced mine with a new Delphi lockheed one from ebay. Feels fantastic.

i was told to do this my celica but, take the brake lines out and plug it with a bolt of the same size, push hard on the pedal and if its worn you will hear a farting sound,

hahaha....
You might. Usually though if the rubbers are past it, the pedal will just sink slowly.
If new seals don't fix it, there may be a corrosion mark in the master cylinder.
Need to either replace with newie or get it sleeved with brass or SS.
Check inside with a good light BEFORE you fit the seals...
