Is not the right seal, AFAIK all Aus mini's had seal that attached to boot lid, either with special clips or glued to boot lid......

This type of seal could work if fitted to boot surround lip on body, but sounds as if the seal you have is too big.

Did Clark rubber sell you this a s a boot seal for a Mini ?

I beleive their part number is 225.018 ?

It is very important to have a good seal on the boot. Because the exhaust pipe is so close to the bottom of the boot lid it can suck exhaust fumes into the car. (been there done that, got the headache  )

My original one still seals. The on-the-bootlid style one.

I think if you had both the boot lid would not close.

Clark make several similar seals. I've just bought some to seal the rear of my Traveller..seems to work fine. The kind I bought would have to be glued onto the boot lid. Its a double tube affair with a flat edge that I glued to teh body. With pressure it collapses into a flat section about 2mm thick.

Cheers, Ian
