Bringing this thread from the Dead. I call 6 Chroming places in Sydney for some quotes today ![]() ![]() Astor metal finishes seems to be the only locally and I was not able to get a quote as the person I needed to speak to was not in. Anyone know Astor or another place..don't care if it a bit of a drive now |

Gafmo I went to Swift plating in Silverwater to enquire about some plating. Have been told that their product is good. They were also very helpful, explained the do's & dont's & reasons. They wouldnt do the bike exhaust I wanted, as it would ruin their cleaning tank due to the carbonised oil in the pipe. They do have a min charge &, they may do what you want. Have also been told that some plating cant be done in Sydney due EPA (or something like that). I went to another motoring co in Nth Parramatta. Exhaust pipe went to Griffith (or somewhere down there) & came back a few days later, great plating job ![]() Dont know if they would do it for everyone, so I wont mention their name. Gafmo, if you want the co name, PM me |

Swift was one of the 6 I called up yesterday. Only 1 company would do it and most of the 6 recommended this company to me. When I finally got in-touch with them today they wanted $270 per wheel. Well they would be perfect as they split the centre from the rim & polish them, coat reweld then chrome them. but for that price I could purchase the wheels I actually want or any of the sets that Matt has. I think Ill just paint them instead |
