Hi

I wasnt sure if I should've placed this in the events section as it is not yet an event.

Just wondering if ausmini has something like this event for example once a month thing where anyone can host a day to work on their mini/s from simple maintenance to complete engine overhaul or body repairs etc...

This is good for people who doesn't know much to learn from other peoples experience not just from the forum reading it or from pictures or manuals.

Or it can also be good for the person who knows how to but needs a hand.

Tips and tricks etc.

Also good time to meet other fellow ausmini members and show off their minis or new toys for the mini.

I've seen some car forums have something like this for example MX5 forum (aus-cartalk) they have their so called "DODGEY DAYS"

Every major cities should have one every now and then.

Can't help with BrisVegas but I'll be in Melbourne for good in December, count me in if there's one there.
Imagine local chapters of Ausmini doing this, what a great idea.

thats a great idea - shame ur in brisbane, but im sure some sydeny people would be jsut as keen

i recall talking to an older, wiser ausmini fellow who mentioned that we used to have soemthing like this back int he day where we organised a place, had a bbq and people socialised and tinkered with toys, offering advice experiences and exhcnaging tools and help.

i think it's a great idea

We had one today at my place, Aaron bought scrapper around & we did some maitenence on him, Rodd came around & we pulled a subframe out of a van for him, my sparky mate came around & rewired my van & we got the engine started, woo hoo, was a good day.

Great Idea.
I've got a list of jobs to do in Brisbane:
1/ Change rack boot on Mokesta
2/ Find electrical fault on Camilla that makes battery go flat.
3/ Replace valve stem seals on Camilla so she stops smelling like burnt oil.
4/ Prepare my silver shell for rust repairs and painting
5/ Convert my white shell to a Suzuki powered beast.

Should be able to knock those off next weekend :D

Mokesta, are you happy to host one in brisbane?

the event should be listed in the Ausmini Events section with all the people who wants to attend so that the host wont be suprised or be overwhelmed by people attending.
And its nice to have a record of people in case something happens.

Mokesta I'm in and will be happy to watch & learn!
