That would depend on what sort of oil pump you have....

It would have come with a spider drive cam from the factory.

I believe there were three main types of 'driving' the oil pump, that is, how the end of the cam shaft connects to the oil pump.

Pin drive, with a pin in the end of the cam, and a slot in the oil pump drive to fit over it, early morris and cooper s type.

Spider drive, as fitted to 1100s 1275 motors and later mini motors (i think?) Has a small 'gear' on the oil pump, with a small piece called the spider which sits on this and fits into the end of the camshaft. Bad news if dropped into the gearbox!

Slot drive, with a slot in the end of the cam, more modern A series engines, UK from mid 70's (I think)

Cheers

Matt

Right now the `spiders' as used on 1100S are NLA (no longer available) so if you have one don't lose it.
You can put a slot drive cam into any A series, you just need to get a `slot drive' oil pump to go with it.
