My grinding noise was wheels rubbing. Which requires hammering, and adjustiing hi-los. Greasing? Shouldn't need it. I got reconditioned one. BTW i believe they are oiled not greased?? There is no seal between rack and body. Mine had a felkt washer between rack and pinon bit and body but I don't think that was original I checked it away. It didn't seem useful and was hacked up. |

the rack made this noise even b4 i bolted it all up...not sure ...now if ive done something wrong. also there is a seal that slides onto the part that sticks threw the floor that the steering colum bolts onto. it looks like a pice of foam that squeezes just like a bush to stop water getting in. got this from the minimania site . ![]() cant believe no one has used this as i can clearly see a gap betwen the rack and floor witch water can get in. easy to make one up out of rubber...so if the rack needs to be taken out ill make one up. |
