:?

OK I've looked at all the different colours and like most of them and I know some of you are going to say it's your car do what you like but I need help in choosing.

It's a 63 Mini 850 body colour= Shadow Blue

Original 850 motor is/was blue
The replacement is a Vanden Plas 1100 and was orange red now painted silver
Ozzie A series in 850s were green
Ozzie 1100s were metallic gold/beige

Ok so what colour would you paint it based on the above?

Secondly those of you who have used the White Knight Alpine Green - how does it stand up to the engine heat? - seeing it's not an "engine paint"

I have blue clubby and I am about to paint it red and the gearbox silver, I think the red is a nice contrast and sets of the chrome nicely. But I say paint it what ever does it for you m8.

Cheers,

Jim :D

I have a blue mini as well and painted my engine in a light charcoal grey colour with red and blue accessories. It is really up to the individual and how you want your engine bay to look. 8)

Yep, go blue!

Go the sleeper look, but keep the gearbox silver, very classy! Can either go standard minimilast or go for a bit of a dress up with chrome parts where appropriatte!

Cheers
Matt

if your body is going to look like a standard 850, i would paint it the standard 850 colour, what ever green that was. Just looks more period.

I think it totally depends on your car colour and car style. If it is an original car with original everything then nothing looks better than the original engine colour. I think original colours have a something magestic about them...

That said I think a hot engine looks good in bright red for certain car colours like yellow, blue or white cars.

For me I thought that Cooper S "copy but not quite the same" green would look crap but I was very wrong, and I think it looks pretty good actually. It pays also to use a good paint rather than cheapie but that's just my opinion.

I just love looking at this picture :P PS. The water pulley will be silver and a chrome rocker cover will replace Graham's gun metal grey rocker cover
