The line for the oil guage failed and sprayed oil all over the engine bay
. time to go get an electric. Thankfully I hadnt painted the engine

Just have to get a quality oil line. Then, no problems! Try the 1/4" external diameter braided line from mini spares! Cheers matt |

He's already using a Macca's tray as a sump guard. 
BIAM, I'm sure this will make finding those inevitable that you are so fond of even harder to find.

same thing happened to me once in my first mini/moke years ago. I was at a set of lights in the city up behind wynyard station. Waiting for the lights to change and second in line behind Gov Bus when the whole back of the bus turned black. I was laughing for a brief second till i realised what had happened. I had forgotten about that. I bought a good quality line and it didn't happen again but I also started carrying the original sender to plug back in if it happened again. Best i start doing that again because the 850/998 has a cheap line on it.

I threw at bolt it and installed in the engine as well. Ill get a decent line when I can be bothered

Burst sender line was one of the two times a mini has stranded me. Smell burning oil for a split second then realise oil pressure has hit zero. Shut down, leap out and there was aenough light from street lights to see oil pissing out the bottom of the engine, but not enough to see where it was coming from. "Hi sweetie, sorry I'm late...can I please get a tow home.... " I hadn't heard anything but assumed I had a holed sump or something. I use fuel line at the moment - no idea if that's a good idea or not..... |

Hey guys, Any ideas on where to get good mechanical (fuel) pressure or temperature lines which won't snap/weaken over time (s/steel braided)? I'm after some heavy duty ones which fit onto the speco gauges (1/8 NPT). Already ordered the minispares one for the oil pressure, want ones for temperature and fuel pressure. Cheers. |
