Post subject:  Can't get it out !!

I want to replace the bushes in the steady bar (near the brake and clutch cylinders) the engine is out so I've got easy access - there is no nut on the bottom of the bolt/stud the whole thing is just rotating in the bush and won't move vertically. I've tried the ball joint spitter, a G clamp and the BFH but no move

Any one got any ideas to get it out ?

clamp the bottom of the bolt and grab a small grinder with a cutting disk and cut it off

Can you get a screwdriver or some sort of lever under the hear of the bolt to get it moving up whilst, if poss, whacking the end of the bolt (with the nut screwed on flush) to knock it up.

AHH so that top lip could be catching under the bracket - need to wiggle a bit

The one I had that looked like that, was not able to be removed without a hacksaw, or removing the brackets on either side. The centre metal bit was way too large to go through the holes.

Use a hacksaw!

Cheers

I'm about to take the master cylinders out to O/haul them so no dramas then - the brackets will come out then
