Post subject: | Dual circuit brake lines |
Hi can anyone help me out some pics or info on how to change from single circuit to dual circuit brake lines with discs. What size wheel cylinders do i put on the back , because while ordering i noticed theres different sizes (.625, .750, .687 ????) What sort of tubing for brake lines and size??. Thanks Steven ![]() |

Brake line tubing is 3/16" O/D. Use .625" (Cooper S) wheel cylinders on the back or the wheels will probably lock up under heavy braking. You will have to redrill the dowel holes in the rear backplates as they are in a different spot with S cylinders. Beware- most fittings use 3/8" UNF thread but the ones on the FAM**** valve on firewall are M10. Not sure about the tandem MC threads, check em.... If using a servo, plumb it into the front circuit only. It'll work fine. ![]() |

Here's the tandem MC in our S replica, as taken from a late Clubby. the 2 pipes go onto the FAM*** whatever valve on the firewall, then there are pipes to front and back below that. |

what he said ^^^^ but here's another photo - all the threads you see in this picture are metric - I'm not 100%, but the 2x outlets together go to a wheel each at the front, the single goes to the rear - so if you're boosting the front, it goes from the MC to the booster, then into that proportioning valve - someone confirm or correct this please! ![]() ![]() |

What does the fam.... valve do is it just a spiltter or does it work like the proprtioning valve at the the back????? and is there 1 or 2 lines that go to the back Also i won"t be using a booster if that makes a difference in any way ![]() |
