 Post subject: HELP!! putting engine in

ok so i get to the point where im putting back in my engine and i just cannotget the drive shafts to go in.... which is makig it just as hard to get the engine mounts to line up... any got any tips? or could lend a hand next weekend or sometime during the week to get them in ?

How are you doing it , have you pulled the inner cv's apart or "popped" them off the diff ? willy , is there any difference between aussie clubbie pot joint's and rover pot joints , I don't think there is but anything's worth a shot ???

i did but they are propperly on now...

so there done?
some metro, so i assume late mini ones also are a different size, we struggled with a mates a+ for ages before realising the pots are slightly smaller :evil:

you need two guys
one to move the driveshaft, and one to move the engine around,
do one shaft at a time, i think the long one first.

failing that, you need to undo your front suspension on one side or both sides

Jack the car up so that front wheels are just off the ground , you can then move the joints into position by turning either front wheel ........cheers

i did have a mate... couldnt even get the long side in... or the engine mounts to line up... if i could have gotten the engine mounts to line up i would have taken both sides off and put them in seperatly...
