Reasons:

It's not a Commodore... It won't be lowered/full sick-ed up.

If either car has coil springs in the rear, then they are a bad choice for towing.

I have a commodore which has a coil spring rear. The original tow bar mounting was too low for all but box trailers and we increased the height. With a car trailer that put more weight on the rear and the coils compress more. The coils dont compress equally or in the same direction (they bow) and rebound in unanticipated fashion.

Also the weight on the rear sticks the nose up fairly high and even under fairly moderate braking its difficult to get enough weight transfer to get good front wheel braking effect. Coming home from MDU I had one case where a kangaroo wanted to argue road space and the commodore had both front wheels locked being pushed along by the trailer. And... that was with very light pedal pressure, not a both feet on the brake pedal panic stop.

If you want a tow car - then you dont want a rear coil springs car. I know modifying the suspension will made a world of a difference but - in my case I tow occasionally, I drive the car a lot - it already has enogh rattles from the rough country roads.

I will probably be towing a Mini once a month, if that, and a small boat every second weekend.

So not much towing at all... but still towing none the less.
