Post subject: | 1100 Mini motors? |
Hi, Im proud to say that I'm now a mini owner! I love her but I'm afraid this little clubby has a very tired old motor which is now howling like never before (main bearing on its way out?). Anyway my question is which is the best place in the country that will deliver a decent reco 1100 motor in crate form to my door at reasonable price? Im not looking for a crazy race engine, just something reliable. Thanks! Shakey |

Welcome to the world of MINI!!!!! o0o0o0 and a Clubby .. what model is it?? You'll need to state what state your in or region or both before anyone can really answer that for you as it might be cheaper aka less postage costs if closer to your home. |

Also check out your own local wreckers as often they have whole power plants taking up space - I bought three recently for $50 each - complete. The ACT has a very active mini group - search out 9YaTaH who is on here. Yyou may be suprised what people have in their sheds with pressure from their spouses to make space for the 4WD. |

Welcome to mini ownership. PM Mick (user name 9YaTaH) It's a good group of mini nuts down there. The ACT club site http://www.actminicarclub.org/ I got my engine reconditioned by Morwood motors in Fyshwick and am quite happy with the engine. Besides 2 head gasket failures (not their fault) I've had no issues with reliability of the engine. Price was a bit expensive but I only pulled it out and put it in again so lots of labour. |
