You can buy the stuff at most automotive shops or paint places, but I doubt it's legal. I has a roady done on a car and it was knocked back because of some overspray on a headlight (wasn't much either). ![]() |

I got done defect with it on my crrappadore $150 and a demirit point. Not worth the risk... The stuff is called nites shades or something, ended up using thinners to get it of my taillights, then had to use polish to resotre the shine to the lens. |

I might be putting that niteshade stuff on my other car (Pontiac Parisienne), but the good thing is that the cops wouldn't have any clue whether it was stock or not, so they pretty much can't do jack about it. ![]() |

Are they allowed to defect you if they don't know anything about the car, and don't know what it came out with stock? |

on another website there was a bloke who was defected in a 04 falcon, the only thing changed was the head unit for his player, i think also it says in the police code of conduct an officer can write a defect notice for anything the officer see unneccisary, but dont quote me on the last one but even still i urge everyone to read that piggy thinggy |

Yeah, I've heard stories of people being defected for stupid things, like too many cigarettes in the ash tray because it is a fire hazard. Once my mates dad got pulled over for having too wide tyres on his '68 Camaro. He asked the cop how wide the stock tyres were on a 1968 SS Camaro, and the cop couldn't answer, so asked him how he knew they were too wide then? He then told him to f*** off, got back in his car and drove away. Not that I would do anything like that, but I seriously doubt that I would ever get pulled over for something like niteshade, because the cops probably wouldn't even notice. |

my understanding about all that sorta stuff is that its up to the officers disgression. with regards to stock or not most police dont know much but some know heaps. i know people that have been done for numberplates on an angle. On the other hand ive been in the car and the policeman opens the carbonfibre bonnet after looking at the uncovered inlets and after looking at all the shiny silver stuff and the turbos and they have sed nothing, even though you cant have a turbo on your p's the secret is just pull over onto private property like a petrol station or maccas. they cant defect you there (but they can ask the proprietors to ask you to leave) |

the poolice can defect a brand new car strait from the factory... My mate is in golbourn at the moment in the accadamy and he tels me all sorts of stories the trainig cops tell them... Apparently there is a test they do when they pull you over and that determins how is all goes for you... Just be nice and pollite dont bullshit tell him that your sorry and a fool and you should get away with a warning |

What is this world coming too! Well in SA it ain't a problem so I'm happy. They should ban commondores for p-platers long before that ban turbos.... IMO. |
