Post subject:  ride height

was looking at doing something bout ride height this weekend, how difficult is it to replace the (think they're called) knucle joints. i'll do the front then the rear was thinking....

& would you put in adjustable Hi - Lo's at the same time.

Havn't done either before, the Hi Lo's might be out of my reach,
coments/ has anyone done this before????

cheers

sill to "datum line" (ground if tyres are hard) is 148.43 mm near enough to 6"

I did have a measurement for the ground to top of wheel arch somewhere - can't find it at the moment

What model is it? - If its a dry suspension you probably need new rubber cones. Depending how good/bad swap the rear to front and get secondhand ones for the rear. or new for the front and leave or replace the rear with secondhand or new - depends on the budget.

Easy enough to do with the right swear words - knuckle joints are only part of the answer if ride height is effected

you need to compress the rubber cones at the front to get the trumpets and knuckles out, and the trumpets are usually very stuck into the rubber cone and take a lot swear words to get them to separate..... avoid avoid avoid taking the top suspension arm out

search on here for rubber cone compressor, I use a bit of allthread and 3 nuts with a plate over the hole in the crossmember

degree of difficulty on a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is changing the oil, and 10 is rebuilding a gearbox, I'd give it a 6
