The heater on my cubman doesnt work. I can select the air to flow into the screen or car and turn it on and off etc but i can not select warm / cold as the switch will not move. any ideas? thanks!

all i can say is that its a common problem... could tell you how to fix it tho...

The heater tap - it's on the other end of the hot/cold slider control is gummed up with years of crud etc from water/coolant.

It's practically impossible to get to it without actually removing the heater unit from your car.

There's a nut and bolt at the top of the heater unit and two more at the back - you have to remove these 3 plus the 2 heater hoses but before you do, peel back the carpet because rusty water is bound to come out and leave a stain.

Anyway, get the unit out of thew car and pull it apart - you can then get rid of all of the dead insects and leaves which are bound to be in there.
Get the the actual heater tap thing and remove the hoses - now just work on it, with WD40 or whatever till it's working again - then re-install.

Alternative for you is to leave the control on so that the heater is always 'on' - the advantage is extra cooling for your mini....it works

or you can remove the heater tap and plumb the hose straight in if you cant afford a new tap or in most cases the tap is rusted up bad

Did the same thing with mine - the price for a new tap is ridiculous so just plumbed the hoses straight back into the core. Cools very very well but a bummer in summer...lmao. can be an issue in winter too but thats why I put perspex behind the grille to get the temp up in winter.

Holden and Ford both used cable operated heater taps, you can pick them up fairly cheap from a good spare parts store.

The tap to the heater core only courses more problems than its worth
As mention above just take out the tape and direct the hose directley into the core of the heater.
It will give you more sirculation during the summer months with little discomfort. If you require the additional colling fot he engine just turn the fan on. You will heat uo but the engine will cool down

The tap is just additional area for rust and problems and possile hot water at your feet when you don't want it

i've used a holden tap, which is plastic btw, but no means of mounting it easily as its the wrong shape, therefore the switch panel didnt work and i had to bend down to manually flick it

You could try this idea-fit a on-off valve directly into the heater hose from your cylinder head.Works good,at least you can manually turn the heat on or off
