Looks pretty tough.... although i think the back wheels are way too far foward... they look out of place....

looks like he's taken off too fast and the body has slid back - his brakes probably aren't good enough to slide it forward again.....

Interesting piece of mechanical madness there.

I'd have a guess and say the body will lift off the chassis,
making it easy (well, you know what I mean) to centre the wheels
to the guards once more.

I wonder what persuaded him to go lime green with baby blue?
*shudders*

:D

From underneath of course.

Actually..... looks like a Ford motor. Easier just to replace the whole thing with a Chev

A friend of mine - 2 years ago came to our sunny shores from Zimbabwe - was telling me about his friends v8 mini - back in Zimbabwe - had to drive it from the back seat too. Anyway, I'll see if I can get hold of any pics.

Aparently, a Mini Clubman is a Mini Rebel over there.

Hooroo

A bit of info for you all.

Those photos are from our 2004 Essential Mini Calendar.

The car belonged to Graham Leyson (not sure if it still does) from Adelaide, but was built by a bloke in or near Bendigo, specifically for burn-out competitions and street machine shows.

Apparently it was a case of someone told this guy it was impossible to fit a V8 in a Mini, so he thought he'd give it a try - as you do!

The engine is a 289ci from a Mustang, with C4 auto, B&M shifter, 9" locked diff, LJ Torana front discs, etc. Separate chassis.

Graham saw the car for sale at the Bendigo Swap Meet and, although he is a bit of a purest for original Minis, couldn't resist it because it was so absurdly different.

The thing goes like a cut snake, but you would never get it registered. Definitely just a toy - but what a toy!

Cheers
Watto.
