nice is that in 2pac paint? well my budget is abit tight probably around 2-2.5k, i'm gonna strip it back to bare metal and leave the rust repair and preparation for the Panel Beater. What you think?

Good luck mate..... No reputable panel beater will do it for that price... first of all your looking at nearly $1000 bucks in material to do a mini..... Steel to do rust repair, gas for welding. Grinding disks for grinding, file blades for fileing, bog for repairs, sand paper, more sand paper, metal conditioner, etch primer, highfill, more sandpaper, prepsol, thinners, basecoat and clear..... Mate it all ads up... To give you an idea a good etch primer 4ltrs is about $85.. A tin of good bog is $35 and to bake a car can cost anywhere from $100-$200... None of this takes into account the hours the guy is going to spend on doing a quality job.

Take it from me mate im apanel beater and I love working on cars and I refuse to do a crappy job on a car.. I just cant do it. You should be budgeting no less then $5000 and as much as $8000.... Alot of people will say about $10000... This is because they don want to do such a big job that takes up so much time... When they can do a big smash that takes a week and walk away with $15gs... I just did a LJ torana and we charged the guy 18gs.... This was for the entire car in and out under neath. Roll cage diff housing suspension engine bay basically everything...

There is alot of work in doing cars and they consume many hours in getting them right..

You'll need more than that just to have it painted professionally.
The only way you will save yourself some money is to remove everything.ie doors/glass/windscreen/lamps motor g/box out.ect.(leave the subframes in,so as you can put on some crappy wheels and the Panelshop can move it around) Then take a day off work during the week and hire a trailer and load the Mini on,and start doing the "rounds".Get prices(quote) and try to judge the shop and owner,as you will have to trust them! There are plenty of horror stories about crap paint jobs and you have to look at it every day! It will give you the shits if you are not happy with end results.Do it properly the first time.
Good luck and I hope it goes well for you. :)
