Sorry I can't compete with the hole that Mini deluxe posted but at least I can share the sorrow of losing an S block.
This motor was in my J car and was being used for obtaining a CAMS competition licence. Anyway poo poo happens!
This is the result of a missed gear, overreved and dropped 1or 2 cam followers. Very spectacular cloud of smoke when the engine oil escaped onto the extractors.
Pity was that I wasnt driving the car at the time and lost my best ever race engine (85Kw ATW)

OW

Never smashed an engine but i had a diff go to pieces, a bit of it went under the front of the crownwheel and punched a nice hole in the case.
5L of hot oil across the road

No seriously I feel for you. Could have been much worse.

I've done it, not much damage really  ;-

Block,
Rod (only 1!),
Cam,
Crank,
Gearbox Case, and
the Diff

Buffed out no worries
