What a super trooper damn he's one lucky kid.... 7% chance of survival from the operation let alone the fact most people would be dead from the injury he sustained. I say good on him if he still wants to get behind the wheel. But I wouldn't be gonig racing again for a very long time. |

I can fully understand his mum not letting him race again - they've seen their son nearly die. And I bet part of his injury was due to having a relatively massive full face helmet on a small body / neck. A friend down the street has a full face helmet for his 7 year old to come riding on his Vespa. It nearly comes out to his son's shoulders, even though it "fits" his skull. I'd very much rather they had a much smaller helmet, like those helmets skateboarders use. The inertia would be much, much less, so much much less loading on their neck in an accident. I'd even go so far to say that such young kids shouldn't be racing cars - this kid came as close to dying as it possible. |

UK Ministox racing - it's especially for 12-14 year olds, grass track, well caged cars - good on him for wanting to get back behind the wheel, though I'd be having something done about the big helmet too ![]() |
