Here are a couple of pics of my 850.
Only had her a week, and she is now a bare metal shell ready for paint. I was surprised to find only two small holes in the floor, and some cracks in the metal, where the doors had been slamming against the body (stuffed hinges). I welded all those problems today, and hope to have it painted in the next couple of weeks.
Note the lights on the back, not sure what its for but it looks like its meant to be.
It had a two piece snap on headlining, slats for water drainage in the roof gutter, brackets welded to the floor for the seats, and no seatbelts at all, not even the holes to put them in (any suggestions?)
Anyway hopefully this will help to identify her a bit better.
I will post more pics of the resto along the way! :D

don' suppose you could look at the exaust mounting to the gearbox for me could ya???

Looks great :D

Seatbelts were an option for all cars in those days. In India they still make 1953 Morris Oxfords called Ambassador. They don't have seatbelts, and Indians drive like maniacs. Must be a reincarnation thing :?

The lights look like they were put in as reversing lights by someone at some point. Certainly never seen them on any other car before.

I looked at what you were talking about, but to my surprise my little 850 has extractors, and doesn't bolt on there.
Sorry.
Thanks, steve.

Nice 850 dude!! 8)

My old lady's first Mini was a '61 850, UK import. Yours might be the same era.

Thanks for having a look. I would bolt a bracket to the extractors though.

The rear number plate mount is wide enough to suit the UK number plates, or did all 850's have that style plate mount?? Do you know what the body number prefix is?

Where do I find the body prefix number?
It has lots of numbers on the BMC plate, and also a number imprinted on the body.
Thanks, steve.

The prefix is something like `YMA2S1' the number below it is the car number- there's 4 or 5 digits. It should match the number stamped into the body below the plate.
