is a second month final year moke a rareity? the floor is completely gone but other then that it looks like a moke. |

What year Andrew as there is a lot of conjecture about what was the final year ... Any moke's getting rare and valuable at present it seems , I think panels are still available from various sources so almost anything is saveable . |

Depends on the day they did the galvanising ... Mine has such a thin gal coating it's like an undercoat and has a few rust stains showing through on the edges , the one dad recently bought (in spotted) is so thick it'll never rust , it's nearly perfect and spent most of it's life on Lord Howe Island . The furthest it could have been from the ocean there would be 400 meters .... |

Dies any one know how many mokes where made??/ also what made the californian the californian do they have different chasis number or are they just cosmetic.,, cheers Monster Mini

were ALL mokes galvanised? if they were it seems unlikely that the floor would completely rist out, perhaps it was cut out at some stage fpr some stupid reason???? (if its unsavable, it would amke a pretty cool sandpit or kiddie pool  )

Not all mokes were galvanised , only from somewhere around late 1980 or early 1981 onwards , only the last few years of the local production . Would be a lot more still around if they were all galvanised . Not sure about the total numbers , I'll check the books I have here , also the californian had different designations/model numbers on the compliance plate , there was a 998 cc version with drum brakes and a 1275 version with 8.4" discs . |

monster, yeah i would ahve thought so, that sounds about right but wait ofr someone who knows mokes inside out to confirm. i suppose they wold ahve started galvanising them when they realised that an open top car fills with water very quickly!!!! |

According to spotlight on - mini minor down under by Pedr Davis the total Australian production of Mokes for local and overseas markets was 26,142 . |

The last year of production appears to be a case of assembling what they had left in the parts bin. Some were galvanised some were not. I have seen late Mokes completely rusted through and others were perfect, just the luck of the draw |
