Why would the polish do a better job than other nationality ?

For a portion of yesterday I was carting water from the council potable water point so we could take a shower.

Its pretty desparate west of the Blue Mountains. Mt Piper power station is about to close because of not enough water to run the steam turbines, the Dubbo abbotoirs are just about the same.

Most rural households are supposed retain a 1,000 gallons of tank water for fire fighting purposes. We carted maybe 1100 litres yesterday and its all the water on the place.

No cars washed here for maybe six months

Hi guys, i used the search but got a couple of hundred posts... Anyone reccomend an exterior polish for the Open Classic and has anyone got any horror stories / 'dont do it this way's? How frequently should you apply? Thanx in advance!

im no pro car detailer, so there may be some ou there that will not argree with what i say, my opinion is: use a non silicon based product (I believe that Bowdens own, and Autoglym make such a product) as this means any future panel work (god forbid) will not be greeted with a build up of silicon on ur paint. Also, after years of building up with silicon based products, the paint can have a cloudy effect bought on it, reducing the shine, Wash your car, then if it is in poor condition, use a suitable polish to clean the paint up and get rid of any oxidization, then follow the polish with a wax. No oxidisation. All in schmiko condition as Matt kept it. So i don't polish regularly, just wax? Any WAX brands people suggest?

I prefer not to use a wax as I have been using this stuff for the past 5 years with great success. www.driwash.com.au/brett I also sell the product as of September this year and will continue to use and sell it as I highly recommoned it and I do not usually use it as a waterless car wash I generally wash fist and use the polishing side of the product to get that great lustre and shine that I need. My Farther has been using iton his Prado from new and it still looks like or better then showroom condition it is a 2000 model. This is how it makes my Mini and Ford Shine Mini Ford

Hi BoHo, I currently use Mothers and I have found it to be the best available at the moment. However, it is expensive and to do it properly, there are three phases, so it is not a quicky. It provides superior long term protection and provides a deep lustre. I have used other brands in the past and I keep an open mind as a new product may one day preove superior. By the way, I don't sell Mothers either! Al

i think its garbage. Waterless car wash is only good when ur car is SLIGHTLY dirty. I have seen it used and can see its merits in these cases, but ohter than that, i will take 5min less in the shower and use that water to wash my car and not scratch the paint thanks.

I hear you, Mike. Sorry to hear you're taking it rough. I've recently taken to sticking $1 in those car wash places and high pressure hosing the Mini for 2min. Works well, but it's not perfect. Keep coming with the polish / wax options, folks. Thanx.

Hi BoHo, My recommendation, bucket in the shower, fills up in seconds. Always use a chamoise leather ( a real one), Autoglym applied in the shade using a good quality stockinette type cloth. If you have any light scratches etc use T-Cut but you must apply some polish afterwards. Use T-Cut with the same type of stockinette dampened with a little water. Oh ......and a tin of elbow grease
