Okay, so i'm off to court at the moment for charges of Drag Racing, Misuse of a Motor Vehicle, Driving in a Manner Dangerous, blah blah blah...

SO, does anyone have an original HARD COPY of the 1978 Modern Motor Magazine write-up?

Kinda need it, as the prosecution is stating that it was "One of the fastest cars available", including now. Obviously, it was quick in 1962, but not 2006.

If anyone can help, that would be awesome

Cheers

Sounds to me like you got what was coming.

How will the magazine help specifically?

Thanks, Mr Cushway.

Helpful as always

Harley: They reckon i was doing this-speed and that-driving, when the car wasn't capable of it in any case.

Now i just have to prove it...

Magazine will only help so much.
They'll probably say the car wasn't standard (like nearly every mini now).
:D

Thats the one

It'll help because they are saying that it was waaay faster than it was. The prosecution is calling it a "Mini Cooper Sports" which, as they say, is "An extremely quick car"

Just check the article doesn't have quality phrases from Leyland like "takes over where the cooper s left off" , or mentions bigger brakes and sports steering wheel etc ... They tended to exagerate a little but still , it may be the same size motor and disc brakes but in standard trim it wasn't in the same league . Depends how modified yours is though . What are they saying you did speedwise and what were you doing ?

Okay-but look at the speed that the article says the LS can get to...

Mate it depends on the modification your car has. Yes the LS can get to the 140-150 mark I know that from my own experience.. luckily I broke before getting lasered, I was nabbed at 117. Good luck with getting the information you require to fight your case. Makes me think I was really lucky to just get off with 9 months suspended licence.

As long as you have a decent lawyer you should be reasonably ok... but it all depends on the prosecution tactics once again good luck mate hope it turns out ok for you.

The line "The performance is a bit decieving..." jsut above the picture is going to be helpful. Afterall how much HP does an LS have? 55hp at the flywheel? as Opposed to Cooper s 78hp at the flywheel (which is a. bit overstated IMO)
